15 June 2008 - Happy Father's Day (T-230d)

Wow, that was so NOT a good trip. Sure, England and Germany were wonderful places to be but I didn't get to enjoy them much. Way too much drama on this trip. WAY WAY too much! But enough about work.

Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there like me. Happy Father's Day to my dad as well. I'm glad I made it home in time. I can't stand missing another holiday. Bad enough I missed our anniversary. Well, I was away. I managed to send Connie a card and a dozen chicken chips from England. They made it the day before. I'm happy. No comments on the chips! Trust me, they were much better and more appreciated than roses. You have to be there and know us to get that though.

Friday I'm off to Japan with the new Major in the office. I'm suppose to train him on joint inspections. I really didn't want to go on this trip but got sucked in by circumstances. It will be my last overseas trip. I already have orders to bring back silk for Margie. Anyone else want anything from Tokyo?

My 44th year of life is almost done. So far so good. I have changed considerably inside but I don't think anyone but Connie and I will notice. I was right about the year, wrong about it being my imminent death. I'm such a dork. But y'all knew that already.

I was telling Aidan this morning about how strong I used to be when I worked on the farm. Connie said, "Yeah, he had Popeye arms when I first met him." Aidan replies, "I love Pot Pie." LOL That's my boy. Didn't hear it right? That's ok, fill in the blanks with the funniest think you can think of.

Ok, off to Kung Fu Panda with my son. Life is good. Happy Father's Day!
