Who’s Pamela? Well, she was born in 1986 in Japan. She came here in the middle of that year and was adopted by a corporation in Chicago Illinois. It was a loving corporation and she was taken good care of but she longed to be in Texas and just over a year later, she made her way to San Antonio.
I first saw Pamela at a place called Jordan Ford. It was an unlikely place to find her. I knew it was love at first site but I didn’t want to let it show. I wanted her, and I could sense, she wanted me too. We had our first date and knew we needed to be together no matter what. But she was a little out of my league. I couldn’t afford her elegance, her style, and the amazing way she moved. But if I played my cards right, she would be mine even though she currently belonged to another.
I approached him as my mortal enemy. It was time to do battle and this time I would be ready. It was for Pamela! I had to succeed. I knew he no longer wanted her. I could see it in his eyes. I made him an offer but he laughed so I turned to walk away. He let me. On my way to work a week later I saw Pamela again, beautiful, radiant, and still trapped by that evil man. “On my way home, I’ll battle him again” I reassured myself. Again I made an offer, again he chuckled but not with as much confidence. I knew I would beat him. I walked away; he stopped me. We spoke at length but could not settle the matter. I knew she needed to be with me, he was convinced otherwise. It broke my heart but I had to leave her again that night.
I paid her another visit about 2 weeks later. We had another small date and she impressed me further by how comfortable we fit together. She held me so firmly and securely I knew this was it. I made another bid for her. This time the man said the decision was now out of his hands. I had to talk to another. Again, I walked away without my Pamela. I could tell it saddened her. I thought I had lost her for sure.
Driving to work 2 weeks after that I saw her, still radiant, beautiful and waiting for me to rescue her. I gathered up the strength to battle on last time. This time I would continue my quest for her to the very top man. They saw me coming. The original little man ran away. The second man I had talked with shook his head and said it was no longer his decision, I would have to talk to the boss. Mr. Jordan was his name. A reasonable fellow and when I made my offer, and showed him clearly how she didn’t belong with him, and although my dowry wasn’t large, it was adequate to take care of my Pamela and ensure he would not suffer the loss to greatly. I think it was my charm, probably my persistence that finally won him over. Pamela was now mine! The minute we were together I knew it would be long and lasting relationship.
