I had recently returned from a whale watching boat tour in Seward Alaska. The tour was fantastic! Lots of wildlife and breath taking scenery!

The whales however, well they didn't really want to cooperate much. I never captured a good picture. I did see their spray several times and managed to catch a glimps of one tale flipping out of the water. Just one.

So once I had returned to my room, I was inspired to capture on paper what I had seen. I thought about a realistic drawing but with all the native Alaskan art running through my head, this is what emerged.
